Volunteers will help design bike sculptures on a 4-person bicycle that will be used in the 2nd Annual Kinetic Sculpture Derby (KKSD) – a parade celebrating art and human powered transit! Volunteers will have the option to stay until 6pm to assist with the NBW after-school program
Neighborhood Bike Works (NBW) is a nonprofit educational organization in West Philadelphia that seeks to increase opportunities for youth through bicycling. By completing a series of classes and fixing up used bikes donated by the community, students can earn a bike for themselves with a helmet and a lock. In addition to providing a positive activity for young people NBW introduces them to the fun, the health benefits, and the freedom that come with cycling in the city.
