PLACE: Mt. Airy Community Computer Center, 17 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19119. (Center is run from the basement of Mt. Airy Presbyterian Church)
WHAT: Mt Airy Community Computing Center is dedicated to improving society by bringing access to technology to those without it. Since 1999, MACCC has worked to raise awareness of the power and usefulness of computers and the role technology plays in benefiting the lives of people. MACCC has a computer-training lab with a variety of programs that are made available to the community at large as well as vulnerable groups such as the elderly. MACCC operates 2 computer labs that offer free classes, an extension of MACCC's mission to close the digital divide between advantaged and disadvantaged citizens.
VOLUNTEERS WILL: help with the monthly free computer training by instructing attendees on how to use Microsoft Word and Excel, how to set up an Email Account, how to update resumes, and how to search the Internet.

Market-Frankford Line: Take the Market-Frankford line to 12th st and Filbert St. Stop. Transfer to the 23 bus going in the direction of Chestnut Hill Loop. Get off bus at the intersection of Germantown Ave and Mt. Pleasant Ave.
Broad St Line: Take the BSL to the Earie Stop and Transfer to the 23 bus going in the direction of Germantown Ave/Mermaid Ln. Get off bus at the intersection of Germantwon Ave and Mt. Pleasant Ave.
Bus (From 69th st): Take the 65 Bus going in the direction of Germantown Ave?Chelten Ave to Gerantown and Wlanut Lane and transfer to the 23 bus going in the direction of Germantown Av/Mermaid Ln. Get off bus at the intersection of Germantown Ave and Mt. Pleasant Ave.

Neighborhood Bike Works

DAY: Saturday, November 17th
TIME: 9:30am to 2:00pm
PLACE: Neighborhood Bike Works, 3916 Locust Walk, Philadelphia, PA 19104 (Located Inside of St. Mary's Church on the U. Penn Campus)
WHAT: Shape up the Shop day! Volunteers will strip bicycles, sort parts, and help clean the bike shop!
Neighborhood Bike Works (NBW) is a nonprofit educational organization in West Philadelphia that seeks to increase opportunities for youth through bicycling. By completing a series of classes and fixing up used bikes donated by the community, students can earn a bike for themselves with a helmet and a lock. In addition to providing a positive activity for young people NBW introduces them to the fun, the health benefits, and the freedom that come with cycling in the city.

Market -Frankford El (blue line) to the 40th Street Stop. From the corner of 40th Street and Market Street, walk south to Locust Street (located one block past Walnut Street). Turn LEFT onto Locust Walk and walk to the big church - St. Mary's- located on the right. The NBW entrance is located behind the church. Ring the bell for entrance by squeezing the brake lever on the bike handle by the door.
NOTE: Locust Street dead ends onto 40th street and continues as a path called Locust Walk leading through the U. Penn campus.
Broad Street Subway (Orange Line) to City Hall stop and transfer (free) onto the Market-Frankford El and follow directions above to NBW.
Buses 21,30,40, and 42 also service this area.

From 76:
* Take I-76 EAST towards Central Phila. Take Exit #342/Girard Ave/Phila Zoo (US 13). Turn RIGHT onto W Girard Ave (US 30). Turn LEFT onto N 40th Street and travel for about 1.5 miles. Drive one block past Walnut Street to Locust Street. Locust Street dead ends onto 40th Street and becomes Locust Walk. Walk LEFT onto Locust Walk.
* Walk on U. Penn Campus towards St. Mary's Church on Locust Walk. St. Mary's Church will be on the RIGHT facing Locust Walk (Cars cannot drive on Locust Walk). The NBW entrance is behind the church. Ring the Bell by squeezing the brake lever on the bike handle on the side of the entrance.
