Jane Addams Place Shelter

Jane Addams Place is an emergency shelter for up to 29 mothers with children.
At Jane Addams Place, Child & Family Advocates assist residents by focusing on families & trauma so that they can regain permanent housing and employment.

Directions:

SEPTA:
Broad Street Subway (orange line):
Take the Subway to City Hall and transfer to Market-Frankford Line MFL terminal. Follow directions from Market-Frankford Line.

Market-Frankford Line (blue line):
Get off at the 40th Street stop. Walk 3 blocks west to 43rd and 1 block south to the corner of 43rd and Ludlow. Jane Addams Shelter located in large former church building on corner.

Buses/Trolleys: You can take the 21 Bus to 43rd and walk north to Ludlow. You can also take the 64 from west Philadelphia in the direction of Parkside Ave and get off at either Farragut and Chestnut and walk up and over to 43rd and Ludlow or get off at 46th and Market and walk east and south. You can take the 11,13, 34 or 36 Trolley to 37th and Spruce and walk up to Ludlow and over to 43rd.

DRIVING:
From I-95 North, take I-676 (Vine Street Expressway) toward Central Philadelphia. Exit at 30th Street Station. Continue on Market to 44th Street. Turn right onto 44th and left onto Ludlow. Go one block to corner of 43rd and Ludlow. Jane Addams Shelter is across the street at corner of 43rd and Ludlow.

From I-76, exit at 30th Street Station. Continue on Market to 44th Street. Turn right onto 44th and left onto Ludlow. Go one block to corner of 43rd and Ludlow. Jane Addams Shelter is across the street at corner of 43rd and Ludlow.

TIME: 12:30pm – 5:00pm
PLACE: Hillcreek Apartments Senior Cleanup, 528 Adams Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19120

WHAT: Come help the elderly residents of the Hillcreek Apartments for Seniors. Many of the residents are elderly and disabled. We will rake leaves, pick up trash, and offer to wash dishes, mop floors, clean stoves, take out trash, and more. The elderly, often struggle with daily chores. Help make life better for them through these simple acts.

I-76 E
* Head southeast on I-76 E toward Exit 339 (1.1 mi)
* Take the exit toward US-1 N (0.2 mi)
* Keep left at the fork, follow signs for Roosevelt Blvd/US-1 N and merge onto US-1 N (4.5 mi)
* Turn left at Rising Sun Ave (1.1 mi)
* Turn right at Adams Ave
* Come to the second driveway on your right, make right turn onto North Hillcreek Drive go 500 feet bear left at first street go 300 feet to main office on your left (0.1 mi)

The Market Frankfort EL:
Take the MFL to city hall, FREE transfer to the Northbound Broad Street Subway Line (towards Fern Rock Transportation Center), and follow the directions for the BSL below.

Starting from the Broad Street Line (BSL):
Take the BSL North Bound (towards Fern Rock Transportation Center) to Olney Station. Catch bus #18 going toward Fox Chase, and get off the bus at Rising Sun & Adams Avenue. Walk down (south) Adams Ave. to N. Hill Creek Drive and make a right turn go 500 feet bear left at first street go 300 feet to main office on your left.
