WHAT: The Ronald McDonald House offers affordable housing for families with children undergoing treatment at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. After a long, and often exhausting, week in the hospital, families look forward to waking up for a “home-away-from-home” hardy breakfast. We believe that the breakfast program provides a nutritional meal that might otherwise be skipped because of financial difficulties or time constraints.

Volunteer groups always have the opportunity to interact with our families and children. Breakfasts are served as you wish. Volunteers will seat the families and provide them with handmade menus and their choice of breakfast options, while others choose to provide a buffet style meal. .

However you choose to assist us with our breakfast program, we can promise you a rewarding experience. This is one of the many programs the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House offers to its families to help make a difficult time in their life a little more bearable.

Septa Market-Frankford El Directions: Take the Market-Frankfort Blue Line towards West Philadelphia. Get off at the 40th Street Stop which is at 40th & Market Street. Walk one block south to Chestnut Street and almost another block towards 39th Street. The RMHouse will be on the left between 40th Street and 38th Street.

Septa Broad Street Line Directions: Take the Broad Street Line going towards City Hall/15th Street Stop. Transfer (FREE) to the Market-Frankfort Blue Line towards West Philadelphia. Get off at the 40th Street Stop which is at 40th & Market Street. Walk one block south to Chestnut Street and almost another block towards 39th Street. The RMHouse will be on the left between 40th Street and 38th Street.

Bus/Trolley Info: The following bus routes service this area - #21 and #42. Call Septa at 215-580-7800 for specific directions.

Driving From North:
Take New Jersey Turnpike South to Exit 4 (Philadelphia/Camden). After toll take NJ Route 73 North. Stay in far left lane for 3.9 miles. Follow signs to NJ Route 90 West to Pennsauken/Betsy Ross Bridge. Cross Betsy Ross Bridge ($3.00 toll) into Philadelphia.
Follow signs to PA Route 95 South (Central Philadelphia). Follow 95 South to Exit 22, I-676W (Central Philadelphia). Stay in the second lane from the right. Do not exit to Callowhill Street.
Follow I-676W for 1-½ miles. After passing the Broad Street Exit, get in far right lane. Take exit for I-76 East International Airport exit only. After going under the overpass, immediately get in your right lane. Exit # 345 (30th Street/Market Street.) exit only.
Turn right at first stop sign. Turn right at second traffic signal onto Market Street. Go straight to 40th Street. Turn left at 40th Street.
For Front Entrance: Go one traffic light and turn left onto Chestnut Street. Green gate in the middle of the block on the left hand side is entrance.
For Garage Entrance: Go one block and turn left onto Ludlow Street. The underground parking garage is on the right hand side in the middle of the block.

Driving From South:
Take I-95 North into Philadelphia. Around International airport, take PA Route 291 East. Cross over the George Platt Bridge (no toll).
First light turn left. The Sunoco refineries will be on your left hand side. This road will lead you onto I-76 West. After entering the highway, merge into far right lane. Exit at University Avenue exit. This is an exit only lane.
At V.A. hospital, University Avenue turns into 38th Street. Follow 38th Street straight to Market Street. Turn left on Market Street. Follow for two traffic signals and turn left onto 40th Street.
For Front Entrance: Go one traffic light and turn left onto Chestnut Street. Green gate in the middle of the block on the left hand side is entrance.
For Garage Entrance: Go one block and turn left onto Ludlow Street. The underground parking garage is on the right hand side in the middle of the block.
