COMPUTERS FOR YOUTH
What? Assist teachers in training families to use their computer based home learning centers!
Where? Roberto Clemente Middle School, 122 W. Erie Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19140
Day? January 26th, 2008
Time? 2 Shifts! 8:15am – 12:30pm (Breakfast Provided!)12:15pm – 4:30pm (Lunch Provided!)

Volunteers will help families set-up their home learning center at the beginning of the workshop; learn basic software operations; and get hands-on experience using their home learning center to improve reading, writing and mathematics. Volunteers also ensure that no families fall behind during the workshop and help keep the day running smoothly. MLK DAY OF SERVICE

MLK Day Of Service!
What? Help us to pack and ready reading and educational material for Inmates, Prison Libraries and Children
Where? Germantown High School, 40 E. High Street, Philadelphia, PA 19144
Day? Monday January 21st, 2008
Time? 8:00am – 1:30pm

Volunteers Will:
Help select, pack and ready for shipping books that inmates have requested through Books Through Bars. We will also be packing lager quantities of books to send to prison libraries, and any and all children’s books will be sent to Liberia with Project R.E.A.D.

Salvation Army

Sort holiday toys and gifts for people in need!

Each year, the Salvation Army receives toy donations for children in need. Volunteers prepare the donations for distribution by helping to sort and box the toys.

Take the Market-Frankford El (Blue Line) toward Frankford; Get off at the Kensington and Allegheny stop (K&A). Out of the station, walk left one block and then cross Allegheny.
Walk down Jasper St in the direction of one-way traffic.
Take Jasper for 3 short blocks until you see the Salvation Army building on the left (corner of Jasper and Clementine). On the Clementine side of the building you will see a door with a gold bell. Ring the Bell.

Driving Directions:
Take 95 to the Allegheny Ave. exit; turn left at the bottom of the ramp; make an immediate left at the first street (Richmond St.). Make a right onto E. Allegheny Ave.
Go about one mile. (You will pass over Frankford Ave. & Emerald St.). Make a left on Jasper St.; take Jasper for 3 short blocks & you will see the Salvation Army building on the left.

MANNA Service Project

MANNA provides nutritional and emotional nourishment to those in need free of charge. Volunteers prepare over 40,000 nutritious, home-cooked, home-delivered meals each month to individuals and families at nutritional risk due to life-threatening illnesses such as HIV/AIDS and Cancer.
